About our Tap classes
Tap dancing is a crowd pleaser with kids, who seem to be innately drawn to the rhythm, movements, and theatre of this dance genre. With our Tap dancing classes taught by teachers who are passionate about instilling the principles of syncopation, energy and form in students, our Tap dance classes are ideal for both boys and girls of all ages.
Junior Tap
Students learn fun basic Tap skills in an imaginative way, including with instruments to help promote rhythm. Step development, with a focus on toe-heel, heel-toe, stamps and shuffles, as well as making as much noise as possible in a fun, safe and educational environment. Ideal for boys and girls aged 5 to 7 years.
Intermediate Tap
Classes focus on developing coordination, precision, rhythmic skills, and musicality within both the Broadway and Contemporary Rhythm-Tap styles. Tap experience required for this class level. Ideal for boys and girls aged 9 to 12 years.
Street Tap
Street Tap is a fast, rhythmical and challenging class with warm ups, canons, cross rhythms, freaky feet combos, and more. Students require experience in Tap dancing to participate to develop more advanced levels of rhythm, precision and musicality. For students aged 13 years and over.
Regardless of the level of class, our teachers are committed to make Tap dancing fun, while also supporting development of skills in coordination, strength, rhythm. We find students form new friendships in our classes, which is encouraged through our focus on inclusivity and our support of individual learning styles that allow dancers to learn according to their own pace.

Who can do Tap dancing?
Tap dancing is fun, loud, and a wonderful entry point into dance for energetic boys and girls. As a dance style that lends itself to performance and theatre, children can use Tap dancing classes as a platform for developing the dance skills required for musical theatre, either at school or later through performance studies. When can my child start Tap dancing?
Our Beginner Tap class caters to children aged five to seven years, however if your child is younger and showing interest in music and dance, we recommend starting with Little Dancers . Not only do they gain exposure to different dance styles and steps, they don’t need to wait until they’re five to start their dance journey.
I’ve heard dance classes can be expensive? Is that true?
As with all extracurricular activities, there are costs associated with classes like Tap dancing. We are very conscious of keeping costs manageable for busy families and you can learn more here about how we do this.
