CLASSES FOR 3 & 4 YEARS

The Ballet Club

The Ballet Club is an exclusive gathering for 3 & 4 year olds and their mums or dads. Children love to see their parents singing and dancing at home, so we figure it’s time they joined in and danced with them at class too! Registration includes a tulle and satin skirt and matching coloured bow/tie (a bow for the parent as well)! Together you’ll explore different themes each term – Under the Sea, Tiaras and Top Hats, At the Circus, At the Zoo, Numbers and Counting, Teddy Bear Picnic, Shadows … oh there is so much we can do! We’re now offering this class on Monday, Tuesday (Redlands), Thursday and Saturday mornings.

The Irish Club

The Irish Club is an exclusive gathering for 3 & 4 year olds and their mums or dads who want to prepare their children to Irish dance like Emma Wiggle. Irish dancing is not that easy you know, so there’s a lot of preparation involved – jumping, skipping, hopping, counting the beat to name just a few. They’ll get to hear and move to traditional Irish music and songs as well as the contemporary ones. We’re now offering this class on Monday, Tuesday (Redlands), Thursday and Saturday mornings.

CLASSES FOR 5 & 6 YEARS

Ballet & Jazz

Ballet & Jazz is a class for our new schoolers who are ready to work with instruction and be part of a team. The music for this class is fun and familiar to them and expands on the techniques learned by our younger classes. We do some warming up, stretching, progressions across the room (including skips, kicks and basic turning skills) as well as learning expression and character. Classes offered Monday afternoons, Wednesday afternoons (in the Redlands) and Saturday mornings.

Junior Hip Hop

Yep, we’ve got Hip Hop classes for Juniors up to 10 years of age. It’s a fun way to learn an art form which has evolved over the years into a stimulating improvisational dance style.

Beginner Tap

In this class your child will be learning super fun basic tap skills in an imaginative way (maybe even playing with instruments) to help promote rhythm. They will learn steps including toe-heel, heel-toe, stamps and shuffles as well as making as much noise as they can in our fun, safe and educational environment.

Beginner Irish

Beginner Irish is 45 minutes of full-on fun! Your child will learn the basic over 2,3 Irish movement and then learn four other light shoe dances. You’ll be amazed how much their brains can soak up. Rhythm, foot technique as well as strengthening is all part of this class too! Be prepared to have your Irish dancer over 2,3ing down the supermarket aisles on your next shopping trip.

CLASSES FOR 7 YEARS & OVER

Ballet & Contemporary

Our ballet classes range from Junior through to Senior levels, where our dancers build on their ballet technique using creative roleplay, props and a thriving positive environment. There are opportunities for students in these classes to perform in non-threatening performances. Our Reports at the end of each semester encourage dancers to progress through the program/syllabus and work hard towards moving into the next graded level.

Jazz

Our Jazz classes range from Junior through to Senior levels and build on the basics of jazz technique to popular and age appropriate music. The turns, kicks, leaps, body isolations, combination and style of moves increases in difficulty as the age and experience of the dancer increases. Our Reports at the end of each semester encourage dancers to progress through the program/syllabus and work hard towards moving into the next graded level.

Irish Dancing (Beginner – Open Championship)

We’ve known for a long time that kids love nothing more than dancing and once they get the Irish music in their heads, there is no stopping them. Once the students have grasped the basic light shoe dances, they will move into Riverdance style dancing with hard shoes. Once they’ve grasped both the light and heavy shoe dancing, they can start competing in Irish dancing competitions (but only if you want). We can boast the success of our dancers winning Queensland State Championships in both solo and team dances, as well as Top 5 in Australia and a multitude of World Qualifiers. We develop these champions in an environment that is non-threatening, positive and encouraging but also hard-working, dedicated, challenging and aimed at achieving individual dancer’s potential.

Hip Hop

Yep, we’ve got Hip Hop classes for Juniors up to 10 years of age and Seniors over 11 years. It’s a fun way to learn an
art form which has evolved over the years into a stimulating improvisational dance style.

Tap

Our Tap classes are graded from Junior to Senior levels and students must have some previous experience of Tap in order to be in these classes. The rhythms and combos will continue to become more complicated … and challenging!!! Will encourage them to progress through the program/syllabus and work hard – great for fitness and having a good laugh!

CLASSES FOR BOYS

Hip Hop & Tap

Why should girls have all the fun?! And if you have young boys in your house, you’ll appreciate the need to find activities to release their endless supplies of energy. We’re planning on the coolest classes for boys only – Hip Hop and Tap, AND we’ve got a male teacher to guide them. Tuesday afternoons are our classes for awesome boys!

CLASSES FOR ADULTS

Dance for Adults

The research proves that adults need to keep moving just as much as the kids. Exercise improves mental abilities, reduces stress, builds confidence (yes, even adults need confidence boosts) and allows the freedom of creativity. As well as all this, it is heaps of fun and a great way to meet new people. So if you’ve got nothing scheduled for Monday nights, here’s what we’ve got planned for you:

Term 1 Ballet & Jazz for Adults
Term 2 Contemporary Dance & Jazz in Heels
Term 3 Line Dancing & Latin Dance
Term 4 We’ll revisit the most popular styles from what we’ve covered through the year.

Street Tap

We call it Street Tap because it will be fast, rhythmical and challenging with warm ups, canons, cross rhythms, freaky feet combos, and more … You will need some experience in Tap dancing to enter this class so that you can continue to learn and explore new levels of rhythms, precision and musicality. So if your Tuesday nights are free, come and give us a go!
