Your privacy is important! CM Dance is committed to providing quality service to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your information.

What is your Personal Information?  Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies you as an individual. We may collect the following types of Personal Information from you:

  • email address
  • telephone number
  • age or date of birth
  • gender
  • schools being attended by dance student
  • special needs (medical, physical and learning)
  • custody, finance and care arrangements
  • details of the product/service you have purchased (eg tickets or dance classes)
  • credit card information, bank account information
  • any additional information relating to you that you provide to us directly through our website or online presence
  • information you provide to use through visits to our venues or customer surveys from time to time.

When we collect Personal Information we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.


How do we collect your Personal Information? We will generally collect your Personal Information directly from you unless it is unreasonable to impracticable to do so. When collecting Personal Information from you, we may collect it in various ways including:

  • Through your access and use of our website located at
  • During conversations between you and our representatives including on the phone and by email, or
  • When you:

–  buy a ticket to a performance

–  enrol, register and/or attend a workshop with, or facilitated by, CM Dance

–  enter a competition

–  book a dance class, or

–  attend a class, workshop or performance at a venue


Disclosure of  Personal Information Your Personal Information may be disclosed in a number of circumstances including the following:

  • Our employees, contractors or service providers for the purpose of operation of our business
  • Third parties where you consent to the use or disclosure, and
  • Where required or authorized by law.


Security of  Personal Information Your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.

When your Personal Information is no longer needed for the purpose for which is was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your Personal Information. However, most of the Personal Information is or will be stored in client files which will be kept by us for a minimum of 7 years.


Access to your Personal Information  You may request access to any Personal Information we hold about you at any time by contacting us in writing. Before we provide you with access to your Personal Information, we may require some proof of identity.


Maintaining the Quality of your Personal Information  It is important to us that your Personal Information is up to date. We will take reasonable steps to make sure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete and up to date. Please advise us as soon as practicable if your information is not up to date or is not accurate so that we can update our records and ensure we can continue to provide quality service to you.
