About our Ballet classes
Our Ballet classes are tailored to all skills levels, including Little Dancers and adults.
Little Dancers
For children aged two and a half to five years. Accompanied by parents, Little Dancers enjoy learning their first Ballet moves to music.
Junior Ballet
For children aged five to seven years. Delivered via positive reinforcement, classes are designed to build technique and skills through creative role play, costumes, and props. Music is fun and familiar.
Pre-Intermediate
Ballet Students build on the basics of Ballet technique and skills via positive and creative role play. End of semester term reports encourage progress to the next graded level.
Intermediate Ballet
Ballet Dancers continue to build vocabulary with a new set of exercises at the barre and in the centre. Emphasis is on detail, artistry, and discipline with increasing demi pointe work, stretching, and strengthening.
Senior Ballet
Focus on improving dancer’s spatial awareness and body orientation. Continued tuition on the whole body with addition of fluidity.
Through our Ballet classes, students learn the art and discipline of excellent technique in a safe and encouraging environment from teachers who are as passionate as they are about dance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can do Ballet?
We encourage both boys and girls to try Ballet as it provides a wonderful foundation for all other forms of dance. From their very first class, we teach the fundamentals of Ballet, from the position of feet to placement of arms. We find children respond well to a learning environment that makes learning Ballet fun before proceeding to more advanced classes that have a greater emphasis on discipline and technique.
When can my child start Ballet classes?
Our Little Dancers class is for children aged two and a half to five years, making it the perfect launch pad for any child with a love of movement and music. Relaxed, fun, while still building competency in students, you will be surprised how quickly your child can develop through these early dance classes.
Can my child take Ballet classes if they are learning another style of dance?
Definitely! In fact, we encourage our students to try a variety of dance classes while they are at CM Dance. To help make this more manageable for parents, we provide existing students with the opportunity to enrol in an additional class of their choice. New students can take advantage of our three week trial for $33. We encourage you to get in touch via our contact form if your child would like to try Ballet.
